POST Issue - not booting

Hoping someone could help - My PC has recently started to get stuck during POST and cycles through the following LED codes:

15 pre memory NB initialization started
36 CPU PEI initialization.
32 (Same as 36)

then clicks and the cycle goes in a neverending loop.

Something regarding the CPU any ideas folks?

I've tried resetting CMOS using the mobo button and shorting the pins and it does come back on until the next power off/ on cycle. I can also switch to backup BIOS - is my main now corrupt or am I overlooking something obvious in my BIOS settings that may be causing this?

Thanks for your suggestions - I'm not a fan of having to take apart the cooler and check the cpu. I'm fairly confident it's not this as haven't had an issue since the months ago that I installed it.

However I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS (it's latest F4 version anyway) might rule that out.

Backup BIOS does work but I've not got any particular setup I just used load optimized defaults and it worked without issue.

OK so don't know how but I managed to sort it, I tried different combinations on the SB and backup/main switch and eventually got the main BIOS to boot. Flashed it again with latest BIOS just to rule out any failure upon a reboot. Touch wood all looks to be OK. There's no logic as to how I solved it so it was just pure luck. I like the idea of dual bios but damned if I know or understand how these Gigabyte ones work or what I did that fixed it but it now works and that will have to be good enough!

So the main BIOS is back to its old ways as per original post and boot is stuck in the loop.

I'm onto the backup BIOS now which is a real pain in the fact that I can use my PC but what if this BIOS fails? Then I am truly stuck - I was under the impression a dual bios would not only provide a backup, but would also self identify an issue or offer some sort of utility to flash a bad bios while using the good one - this would seem the most logical approach but there's next to nothing documented as to how it works. I can only guess the EPROM is defective on the main BIOS?

Is it worth me RMA'ing the board to Gigabyte or is there anything else I can do. To be honest I'm put off by the hassle of taking everthing apart and what's the guarantee they'll send me the same board back (different board will render my Win10 useless)

Any ideas out there folks as to what I should do?
