Hi all, I wonder if anyone could help me out . I recently bought one of the OCUK 'Bundles', the components are :-
1 x Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
1 x G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ)
1 x Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
When the machine boots the POST message reports the memory as being PC533 interleaved, the box the memory came in and the stickers on the chips say PC6400. SPD is enabled in the bios, I was under the impression this would detect the memory automatically.
I have upgraded the BIOS to the latest version ( 1901 ) on the ASUS website and loaded all the default settings.
I ran CPU-Z, the 'SPD' tab reports the correct information in the top section ( manufactuer, part number etc ) and has two columns of timings in the timings table ( one with a frequency of 266MHz and the other with 400 MHz ), I'm not sure that that means ! The 'Memory' tab shows a frequency of 339.5 MHz.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be most greatful, thanks for looking
