Ok, I have no pics yet but thats because my pizza stone split on my charcoal bbq yesterday during my first attempt at a stone baked bbq pizza!

I can tell you it died for a worthy cause though and I will definitely be attempting this again once I can afford a decent quality pizza stone!

Love to see if anyone else has done this and what method they find best pics would obviously be welcome

Straight into a hot BBQ? Those thin stones will never take that. I have seen pizzas done on BBQs before, altho nice, not a big enough difference from a decent stone in a blazing hot oven for me.

When I get a big enough garden I wanna go the whole way and build a wood oven out of clay

I'd love to do that too!

Literally could then take the whole cooking process to the garden as well in the summer. Much more pleasant.

No pics handy right now but I use a weber pizza stone in my bbq with great results. With plenty of coals and the lid on you get great results. With a flimsy stone would probably have to be indirect heat.

thats exactly the stone I was looking to get to use with my baby smokey joe!!! I also recently picked up a weber chimney starter- absolute godsend to get the briquettes just right!
