POST problem "DET DRAM"

Maclement - Did a few things, pumped up the volts to 2.1 (2.2 actual)/changed timing from Auto to 667/changed to manual timings with Cas4 setting. Personally think the volts/timing to 667 made the difference.

Beckett - No m8 it was a 1GB stick of Cas4 stuff from a m8 (orange heatsink)

Only problem is I daren't change anything now lol. Might just get 4 sticks of Geil, tempting for just £75 (as 1 of my Ballistix sticks is fried anyhow, I blame the P5K I had)

Hope this helps both of you

heh I really have no luck. Tried this second board with 8 different sticks of memory now (4x1gb ballistix, 2x1gb Geil Ultra - orange heatsink and 2x1gb Geil black dragon)

Supplier is picking it up today.

Guys,

Thanks for all your help. Got it running last night using JediFragger's advice. Same as him, I am now running my 1066's as 800's with CAS 4.

How about this response I got from Overclockers which I feel like posting as a review of their own white-labelled offering;

Dear Mark Clement,

Some motherboards are fussy with the memory that they use and as the OCUK may is a value product this could be why the memory and the motherboard are not working together. You will probably find that using some other 1066 RAM i.e. Crucial the system will be fine.

Trade Description Act ring a bell with anyone? I do not see this disclaimer on the advertised product.

Nice1 Mac, glad you got it up & running. Sweet MoBo :cool:

Previous MoBo (P5K Del) fried one of my Crucial sticks so I went & got 4x1GB Geil as it was sooooo cheap :D

And also to be fair to Rob it isn't just 'value' sticks that are afflicted with this problem, expensive stuff suffers too (like my Ballistix)
