Hi
I have an issue with a PC that I am trying to repair for someone.
The PC doesn't make any POST beeps at all, although the fans etc power up on the graphics card, heatsink etc.
The PSU seems OK with a PSU tester and is brand new, as that had just been replaced by me when the old one went.
Question (and I already know the answer):
With all the components (ie. graphics card, ram, processor etc.) removed, should the POST generate error beeps?
As I add all of these components should it still generate error beeps?
And finally when I have all components installed, should it make a beep an error beep of some description?
From the mobo in question I cannot generate a bloody beep for love nor money, let alone get an error beep or get anything outputting to monitor.
When I say "I already know the answer" I am not being cocky, I just know what the answer is with every other mobo I have ever used.
Oddly, adding a graphics card into the mix from a working system the pc passes POST, yet with the old GPU and a new one, it doesn't generate anything....so oddly I originally thought it was a GPU issue, but now I have my doubts.
