Post your bikes thread

After less than one year of having my full license and 3 bikes on I done my first track day at Knockhill. It was raining quite heavily before we went out but it slowly dried a little and I had a great time, got my next one booked for october the 17th :D Look at that horrible cat under the bike, time for a full race system? :D

Get your self hanging off that bike  :D you'll soon start running out of ground clearance else, hanging off allows you to do the same corner speed with less lean...or more corner speed and the same lean...either way knee downs look great in the photos ;)

I'd stick with the stock system, they're getting more and more tighter with noise on tracks, its funny how your local MOT tester passes your loud race cans but you cant ride around a race track...

We were very lucky, sunny and dry the whole day until 50miles down the road afterwards :) I was quite nervous about crashing my bike for some reason, its the first time I've done a trackday on the SP1 and wasnt sure how the old fatty would handle it. Had always used the wifes 636 previously and never worried on much on hers :)

The SP1 was good, but I am much faster on the wifes 636. Better brakes, same power, 40kg less.

Had a little 'scare' late in the last session (which wasnt bleeming recording!) went into Redgate a lot faster than I should, tipped it in, knee down, knee up knee down, knee up, toe slider down. This is all common stuff on the wifes 636 with standard rear sets but it is physically impossible to get the pegs down on a narrow V-Twin with jacked up Harris rear sets, the exhaust actually sticks out about an inch or two further than the end of the pegs. Thats something I wouldn't want to try to often!

Angelsey looks nice but its way to far for me, its about 350 miles from me. We figured about 200-250miles is ideal distance.

Wife is doing Pembrey in a few weeks time too.

Cool sounds like you had a great day then :D

Most of my day at donny looked like this :(

Yea Anglesey is abit far, just under 300 miles for me, but ive got family there so have somewhere to stay, its definitely worth it once a year :D
Thinking of another TD this year or do level 1 Cali superbike School, hmmm decisions :p

Heres My Malagutti Drakon 50. Currently in Park Ferme as I've just turned 17 and ready to go up to 33bhp:).

Ok its only a 130 rear but all my friends are impressed.:D lol at rubbish toplock but I've got 3 locks round it to be safe.

Any recommend a good solid 250/400cc, personally I was considering the Ninja 250R, any good?

EDIT: Got pics working.

love that pic the VFR 400 was the first bike i ever fell in love with, never owned one myself but i think they are one of the best hondas ever made looks wise. Congrats on that one :)

About time that we started seeing some clean bikes now that spring has sprung :)

I'll start.....

Spent a few hours cleaning the 12 on Sunday. Pics havent come out all that great as my 18-55mm lense is knackered so had to take these from about 20 feet away with my 70-300mm tamron doh! Doesnt show just how shiny the paintwork is at all :(

Basically gave it a wash, Autoglym polish followed by Meguirs wax, as well as a good dosing of WD40 and GT85 on the metal bits. Missed a few places which is annoying, but the bikes there to be ridden and will look a state in a couple of weeks anyway!

Comes up well for a 5 year old Kawasaki :D Only mods so far are helibars. Got a Quill exhaust which should arrive tomorrow, and keeping an eye on a Corbin seat on ebay. Other than that, I'm planning on getting some clear or smoked indicators and an LED tail light then leaving well alone.

That looks in amazing nick... How many miles on it? My mate's 636 was in worse condition than that after about 6 months

I should clean my bike sometime, I gave it a quick jetwash in July so I suppose it's about due another.

Mine was clean, but keep getting caught out in the rain all the time, specially annoying as I spent 4 hours cleaning and protecting it 2 weeks ago :/
Anyway here is some updates on mine :p
Carbon effect Thingy :p Ohlins Steering Damper!
And best mod of all so far! 06 R6 Monoblock Calipers, SBS Sintered Pads and 320mm Galfer Wavey Discs!

Next I need new tyres for my next TD, and in for custom PC map in two weeks! and HID dip to fit when I get the time :p
Want to do's include:
Slipper Clutch, Brembro RCS Master Cylinder, HM Quickshifter, Fork Internals done by K-Teck but that will have to be done over next winter, unless someone wants to lend me some forks? :p

What year is it, K4? I'll have a set of those forks going spare soon-ish if you do want a lend, sticking a K7 set into frankenbike as soon as I get the machining finished... Could be a month or so mind, I'm not fast. The R6 calipers are nice eh, so much lighter. The R6 stock master cylinder's not far off the quality of the basic brembo aftermarket stuff btw, it's smaller bore though so you do get a longer lever travel (I ran the R6 calipers with my old 18mm Brembo and didn't like it much, prefer more travel)

Yea its a K4!
Cool whats frankenbike? lol
Yea the R6 calipers are great, cant wait to try them on track once they are bedded in see if I can see the difference with monoblocks, theyre so easy to see the pads and take off etc, best mod to do :p
Yea still got stock master cylinder, but as I use mine on road aswell as track a standard brembro one wasnt ideal, but these new RCS with lever adjustment and 18-20 ratio look great! just abit steep! £250 cheapest ive seen.

Still need to get my sv back on the road :p think I will sort the SRAD brakes for it this weekend, then need to go research SV650.org again about these magnets and sensor :p

Looking good cyclops12! :)
