Post your bikes thread

The rgv and rs 250 are relativly abundant tbh, ebay and autotrader have a few most of the time. try
http://www.rgv250.co.uk/
they have lots of info on both rgv and rs, and yes they make you a true biker nothing like kicking all the sunday boys on thier 600 on a 250 twostroke
edit also if you get a rgv or nsr with a shagged body work u could buy a bodykit like this

Oh, there’s still some that side

Av it!

Scort.

Nice one scort! :p

Just had to take off my old tyre, was quite sad to see it go, id like it as a trophy was wrecked on either side :D

Shame the weathers set to be bad this week, will have to use the Street Triple as I aint scrubbing in a new tyre in the wet! :o

Ah don't be a whimp :p. Just take it slow, I scrubbed a new tire in in the wet after only riding for a few months lol. To be fair though, the sun was shining when I turned up to get my tires done, damn summer showers caught me out though heh.

i think hes talking about racing :D

Nope not racing.

Well if the sun is shining I will thats not a problem lol ill get them scrubbed in quickly, but im not taking a brand new tyre out when its tipping it down, I quite like my bike in one piece :p I slide around enough in the wet with good tyres as it is :p but I think thats more my riding style :D

Cheers fella, I was proper chuffed – better still, I didn’t get hit off shortly after doing it this time :D

You should keep it! Shame I didn’t keep the Corsa 3s off the Ninja after it wrecked, nice multi compound tyre so the edges were nice and ragged, think the R1’s are single compound Corsas though, the edges don’t show the same type of wear.

Nothing wrong with scrubbign a tyre in the wet.... although I did ride like I was walking on ice :D

Scort.

nice one scort, my kahoonas not big enough for that kinda thing so always maintain a nice chicken strip of a least 1/2 inch :)

for some reason I just never feel comfortable around corners, like a roundabout I never feel like bike is going round it nice and find myself almost fighting the corner.. not sure where I'm going wrong... a copper even pulled me once saying it looked like I was trying to stay upright on roundabout hmmm (first time ever pulled for riding like a wuss in history!! lmao)

maybe I sit to far forward, i try to relax arms, should you grip tank with knee ?, i guess it's a confidence thing and I just constantly have visions of bike slipping out from under me :(, gave up wearing sliders years back coz I never used them, and nothing worse then having them fitted and still virgin plastic

funny thing is I'm happy to sit on one wheel but show me a twisty and I come out in cold sweat :(

Gotta stick the standard can back on mine as its booked in for its MoT this week. Taking the Renegade system off is a bit of a pain but my regular spanner monkey is a bit particular about turning a blind eye to systems like the Rene's, even with the baffles fitted. Can't argue the toss to be honest as I've been using the guy for years and wouldn't trust my Mille with anyone else to work on so it's just a case of biting the bullet and doing as he asks. I know some outfits will MoT anything exhaust wise these days but looking at it from his point of view it's a lot to risk if he gets caught out by a flying visit from the MoT testing authorities.

So, Rene's off, factory can back on along with barn door sized number plate.

Looking forward to getting her back on the road though. About 6 off us from work have an Easter run planned for Sunday this week to blow the cobwebs off so hopefully I will have it all legal by then.

You sure your suspension is setup right mate? on any bike I have been on going around corners they feel like they will sit like that all day lol with little resistance.
Yea you want to have your left knee gripping the tank, you kind of want your knees to be about 90° and your right knee down near the engine and your head looking just over your right mirror and try to keep your back inline at same time :D
It feels really abnormal at first but once you do touch down you understand straight away :p
And stay in about 3rd gear to learn.

ta for tips, I got suspension setup by racelab for my weight so should be ok, though I'm down a little fork oil as I popped a seal over winter and done a quick fix to stop seal weaping.

it's me though I'm sure, had a few highsides in past and it just makes me picture the bike sliding as soon as I enter corner / roundabout...

might have to find a quiet roundabout and do a few laps one night to get confidence back

Yea nice warm evening is best time, I first got mine down about 11pm few summers ago lol, cudnt sleep for ages was buzzing :D
Your not that far away so we will have to do a ocuk bike meet and go practice :p
You dont even have to go fast for knee down, and your keeping a steady throttle so just check the roundabout is clean(ish :p ) and you should not slide out if your tyres are warm.

I bet, will have to sort out some 'slidable' leathers first as my leather would prolly fall to bits on contact lol

I remember once approaching arundal castle and was huge traffic jam, filtered to front and found the cause of holdup, two R1s going round and round roundabout both with sparking titanium sliders, looked ace but was annoying a few people :)

lol yea a lot of bikers do take the **** :p I usually find a set of roundabouts, and just go round once then down to the next one and back when I was learning, that way keeps tyres warm and you dont annoy anyone.

Here's mine...

I've had it for almost two years now and use it for commuting in all weathers. No real mods to speak of other than, Scottoiler, K&N Air Filter, Carbon Hugger and Veto Evo Alarm. Oh and the paint job, but that was done by the previous owner.

Before that I had an XJR400 R2, which is sitting in my brothers back yard needing lots of attention after being stolen and burnt twice! And before that I had a GS125 that i was meant to do my test on but that was stolen the night before my test and was found three days later burnt out.

Things i'd like to do to the VFR? I'd like a top box for travelling with the other half, i'd like the paintwork redoing- the same but just to freshen it up. I've been toying with the idea of putting a can on it, but the can i had on the XJR started to drive me crazy on long journeys.

How much does a paint job cost? Single colour metallic for example? My gsx600f has a some scapes down one side after a slow speed off, and I would really like to either have the panel repaired and respray the bike, or replace the whole panel (ouch!) and respray the bike.

It depends which metallic, because they need to do several layers of colours to get it right, so some are a lot cheaper that others. I'm expecting that mine will cost around £500. I would have thought that metallic would be more.
