Post your bikes thread

Cheers for the love guys! :)

I took those shortly after I picked it up the other week. And no I was not in the pool, but yeah it does look like it lol

I can assure you that I do not run with the baffles in :D

Actually...they are in atm, but only cos i'm on a 7am start today. Didn't think the neighbours would be too chuffed firing it up baffleless at 06:00 ;)

Also i'm on 90 odd miles and no reserve light yet! woop woop! :p

I start mine up at 5:30am when I go out for an early ride ;) I try to be nice, so only ping it of the limiter for 30 seconds ;)

Honestly if anyone hasn't been out on a ride at 6am on a dry warm sunny Sunday then you're missing out. We've been out for 90miles only encountered one car, speeds are not crazy but the pace is much more flowing and safe. Plus the police tend to change shifts around 6 so its a cross over period ;)

These days, I've been doing very early shifts, which means leaving home at about 3:45am. The roads are totally clear and its a real pleasure to ride at that time. Of course, on my way bike, when there is traffic (especially in central London) and I'm queuing in lots of traffic, its no fun at all. My left hand is constantly on the clutch and the whole experience is draining.

This is exacly why I dont get involved in group rideouts on a sunday morning/afternoon.

Far too many idiots in mobile chicanes on the road - your stereotypical "Sunday Driver" type guy.

There are a few of us that get together for rideouts in a group but we generally do it at about 6.00pm in the evening on weekdays rather than weekends. That way you are pretty much guaranteed quiet roads and a lot less muppetry from other road users. :D

Awesome   Gotta love big twins

Once you have made the move over from an i4 to a v2 you just never look back. :D

I'd like an i4 as a second bike although sadly I don't have the room for two bikes. Twins are (for me) "where it's at", definitely. I love how the power comes in early, and because there's a greater time between power strokes on a twin, the rear tyre has an easier time finding grip. Both of these things (power and grip) work so well together. Twins are friendly in the wet and just ooze "feel good" factor in the dry. I also love how with a twin the fun stuff happens precisely in the right range - 40-85mph, which, lets face it, is where we spend most of our time when on the bike (whether we like to admit it or not :D). For me, twins just work and feel good :D

I dont know, I have an SP1 and I still love riding the wifes 636. Theres something sexy about keeping it on the boil, hearing it howl through every gear and the surge of power at top end. They're almost 2stroke-esq, just without the cloud of smoke and the knackered piston(s) ;)

Twins dont feel that fast because of the flat power delivery but high revving 600's feel like you're working for the speed.

I went from a IL4 to a Vtwin, I love them both equally :D nothing like the sound of a twain nailing it, but then again I love the scream and induction howl on the IL4, I just love any bikes in general :D

Indeedy!!!

went from R1 > TL1000R > ZX12, though the TLR motor was awesome, when you get back on a much more powerful IL4 you realize just how rough it was.

the TLR did pull like a train out of corners, but for a old man like me it was nice to have the smoothness back

though i miss the thump thump sound :(

Mine needs it's second service very soon, how much doe they cost Draeger?

Also a the rear tyre is getting low *cries*

Avon Viper Sports on there atm, but I need someting that will last....if that's possible?

I still love the howl of an IL4, the scariest thing about this V twin is the deceptively lazy exahust note. Pop up trough the gears, look down & I'm cruising at 95...and it feels like 40!

What mileage is it sat at m8?. Service intervals are every 4500 miles alternating between minor and major. Major ones are the "valve clearance check" ones which require the check done on a stone cold engine. Make sure you ask whoever is doing it for the clearances they read afterwards as well and keep a note of them. Major service also includes most things you would expect like oils, filters, plugs, coolant change, brake/clutch fluids, brakes, throttle body Co2 check and adjust as well as the valve clearances.

You are looking at @£120-£140 for a minor service and around £300'ish or slightly under for a major one, prices inc parts.

Hoops?. I can highly recommend Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's. Sticky, great "feel" and don't go "off" towards the end of their lifespan. I get about 2500-3000 miles out of a rear and that is with fairly spirited/fast road use. Good price too.

I used to see one of these parked up a lot and have always wondered what that thing is sticking out of the fairing behind the indicator.

Crash bungs in case you stuff it up the road. Supposed to take the sting out of some of the impact and attempt to save your bike plastics somewhat.

You also get them for the mid sections usually mounted through the centre frame spar like the ones I have ;-

The ones on Barry's bike are supposed to help protect the upper sections of the plastic. Crash bungs can also be fitted to the bottom of the front forks and also the swinging arm at the rear. These also double up as paddock stand lugs.

Got them on mine and some rear ones, still scuffs the bottom plastics when I go down though! better than a knackered engine or frame though I suppose.... :p
