I don’t think ants eat them, although I could be wrong, I thought they just harvested (‘milk’) the sugary sap from their bums :p

Ants will also defend the aphids from other predators (ladybirds etc) so that the aphids survive to continue feeding the ants.

I will not have ant/aphid depraved orgies in my garden.
Unless of course I can set up some sort of onlyfans for them and profit off it.
Get some ladybird larvae in, then it'll be a full blown orgy war.

Squash the aphids and especially ants first to give the ladybird larvae the upper hand.
