Not sure how to describe this really. Are there places or sites or images or songs that you go to almost by default because you enjoy them? Not once or twice but often?

I don't think this is a youtube thread but one of the things I watch and re-watch is this one :

Do you have go-to's?

Read title, thought of what to reply with.

My penis.

Read opening post, thought of what to reply with.

My penis.

So, I'll reply with.

My penis.

If I'm looking through the TV guide and the Italian Job is on (The proper, original, one) I have to watch it, doesn't matter that it's halfway through and I've seen it a hundred times I'll watch it anyway. Yet despite having it on DVD I never actively put it on.

Same with Top Gun as well.

ITV were showing The Thing again for the millionth time but I can still watch it over and over again. Same goes for Aliens, Robocop and gods knows what else.

Ferris Buellers day off is a great film!

This song gets played every morning without fail

Followed by the whole of parilax (the new album) with notable mentions of this song

Every day has to be started with atlas sound, if its not bad things happen, pretty much how things work for me now. Its like a comfort blanket of awesome music.

I take comfort from watching a film I've seen a million times before. Not sure if that makes sense.

There can be a film that I've seen a hundred times that I've got on DVD too but if it pops up of ITV4 at midnight i find myself drawn to it and find watching it very relaxing.

It depends which film.

Star wars is utterly ruined for me by being over played. The Matrix (if left with a sensible amount of time) still makes me go  like a 11 year old watching it for the first time.

I used to have an Accord also Kwerk. I had an A-Z of Glasgow and a bag of sweets in the glovebox. I imagine you have some infinitely more cool.

The film is great but the book is devastating.

:) or :(

You see - I grew up with Star Wars (the original "trilogy") with Return of the Jedi playing a huge part of my child hood! It's something I'll never forget, especially the sticker albums :)

However - I'll always remember the original 1999 The Matrix movie playing such a big part in my life. I recall going to my local cinema (only three screens) throwing a sickie from work on a bank holiday (double time ) Monday whilst going with my gf (now wife) to see a movie I'd never even hear of before and being totally blown away. Remember this is long before the multi screen cinemas now a days and long before every one jumped on the "slowed down bullet speed" photography scenes.

This film rocked!

It's just the ewoks that annoy me... (the "prequels" are just ignored for good reason) :D

Original Matix is something special, being 12 on a school trip banging onto a mate about that slide phone, he bought one off ebay and everything, it was a big deal. First dvd I ever watched too!

I think most people who find its not a big part of their lives (one way or another) are just bad people. I was nearly in tears to find out the current gf hasn't seen it. Though according to several friends thats not reason to get rid of her...

I agree with you on the prequels - I also agree with you on the "teddy bears" sorry Ewoks special effects. Given the budget GL had available at the time you'd have though he'd have at least tried to make a bit of an effort!

You mean the Nokia 8110 that everyone (including me) thought was a Nokia 7110 and subsequently bought thinking it was the epitome of all things cool.

Are you telling me your current gf hasn't seen the original Matrix? Or she hasn't seen the original Star Wars "trilogy"?

Either way it sounds to me like a good (if rather long) night in together in front of the tv which will either end in mutual satisfaction (read into that what you will . . . . . .)

Or divorce :p

Set her down to watch it after a nice evening and make sure that she watches it fully and properly, and then if she doesn't like it, you can call her history :p
