**Post Your I7 Idle temps Here:)

Dont have any pics atm but will post as soon as the cam charges up.

The unit is not that bad after the first initial start up,It has to freeze 4l of water. after its don that its doesnt kick in very often. I just leave it on 24/7.

I just use a little res (lagged to hold the temp) then into the cooler useing both lines then into the CPU then back to the res. Spose you could go Res,cooler,CPU,cooler, res. think it will give you the same over all temps. You do need to run a strong antifreeze mix due to the chance of it freezing in the coil. O i have 2 pumps (fish tank pump in the res (750lph) and a OCZ pump in the case (res pump runs 24/7.sort of push pull thing). I wouldnt use a rad in this set up it will warm the water.but like the cold air thing nevver thought about that :) There is a little of conden but i have just lagged the pipes.

Its a VERY easy way to cool the water loads better and easyer than a custom build (been there done that) and £400 less than Phase and can run 24/7

Edit: Forgot the fittings. They are just push on 3/8 but i step to 1/2inc after the cooler(only cos i had loads of pipe about the place) If you have a water cooler fitted atm you can fit this within 20mins. Hell you could fit it onto a H20 :) that would make - temps for £150. lol . Should buy a load and sell them with a fitting kit.

How are you guys getting these temps. It looks like the average is 40*c idle with a 4gig OC.

Im using a Noctua NH-U12P Push and Pull and my idle NON OC 2.2GHz is about 45 - 50*c whats going on there.

Prime 95 with a 3.8 OC gives up to 88*c,

Side of the case is off by the way cos I had a little accident and stepped on it bending it in half, opps does having the side off really affect temp that much, id say my ambient temp is about 20-22*c

You might want to resit your HS, the temp looks high for idle :(

Was this when you used the can of compressed air to cool the chip???

yeah - lol!

im looking at some alternative cooling methods for my bench rig

however, i have yet to find something efficiant enough

to be honest, i never have the time to 'fiddle' with hardware properly enough to justify it

wanted a littledevil SS, but i have too many other priorities at the moment :(

No screenies at present but at idle I run at about 37/38 - full load it goes up to about 51.

That is with all the fans on my 902 at their slowest speeds.

Update to mine with screenshot.

Lapped TRUE black with 2 x 400-1200 rpm pwm fans in push/pull.

Here's mine. i7 920 C0 stock speed speedstep using H50 (AS5 TIM), ambient: 23c. Temps seem a little high right guys?? :(

35, 32, 36, 31

(how do i paste in the screenies like other fellow posters?? thanks)

They look "slightly" hgh tbh with that ambient, and at stock

To post a screenshot, upload it to www.imageshack.us or similar, get the image link / URL then either post:

[img*]your image link/URL[/img*] without the "*"s and your link / url inbetween :D

or hit the "insert picture" button on the posting panel and paste the link/URL

lolepk.jpg

for example

[img*]http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/5787/coole.png[/img*] without the "*" would give:
