As the title.

I have discovered some gems back when i was a student and continue to munch on them with great delight to this day!

1. Buttered both sides with Cheese and onion filling (A classic rarely eaten these days)

2. A light wipe of oil on the toastie maker with a kitchen towel, nutella and peanut butter filling on white bread. Mini marshmallows if you need more sugar

3. Ham, cheese, beans, fried egg with bread buttered both sides. A tricky one if you require stability and dangerously lava like but worth the reward

4. Bolognese sauce, cheese and salami or peperoni, bread not buttered or single side buttered. This one is also dangerously hot but essentially a pizza pocket when done correctly

5. Strong mature cheese, bit of rice, chicken. Rice makes a great filler if you dont want too much cheese volume but like the taste of strong cheese. Chicken because... yeah. Oliveoil brush the toastie maker for best results.

6. Chicken, pesto, cheese with olive oil brush on both sides of the bread.

7. My personal fav:

Lightly spread nutella on sliced brioche bread and crushed nuts. eat with yoghurt.

Obviously these can all be considered unhealthy. This thread is not a 'Guide to living life' but a toastie thread.

Butter on the outside.
Tuna and cheddar on the inside.
Then on a cast iron pan, not used my Toastie grill in years.

Some good choices. I will try these this weekend and report back

Basil infused olive oil brushed white bread instead of buttered with cheddar and spinach make for a good tomato soup accompaniment.

My usual one:
Butter on the outside
Cooked ham, applewood smoked cheese and some mixed herbs on the inside
Griddle instead of toastie machine

Festive one:
Butter on the outside as always
Cranberry Sauce and Brie / Cranberry Sauce & Stilton / Plum Chutney and Stilton
Griddle

Love how we're all fans of butter on the outside! :D

Either just cheese with Worcester sauce, preferably a mature cheddar or something like red Leicester.

Or cheese and proper ham.

I'd assume it would go just as well, but I have multiple times a week in a panini...

Chicken Tikka, Cheese and red onion

Very, very nice combination.

Toast your bread, slice thick mature cheese, and apply. Then get a bottle of cholula smoky chipotle sauce, and put as much as you like on. Put on plate and place in microwave for twenty seconds. Slice in half and enjoy with healthy dollop of Tommy K

Cheese and onion - top shout

Defo butter both sides of the bread and wipe the toaster with oil

Fried egg, cheese and Tommy K is another classic !

Sardine (tinned, in oil) and cheese, with super hot chilli sauce thinly spread over a layer of butter on the inside. Marvellous.
