When selling on the members market whats the cheapest / safest way to send electronic items?

What do people use to sell stuff like CPU's, GPU's etc etc...

Currently I am sitting on some DDR4 ram that I would like to sell but the cost of postage makes it not worth it.

So interested to know what people use.

Depends. If it’s not worth much then I just use Royal Mail 48 / 24.

I’ve sometimes left it up to the buyer to pick what they’d like, then I’d price it up and as it to the cost (sell without p&p included).

I just make sure to go a little OTT on the old packaging to make sure it’s as courier proof as it can be.

I always used Royal Mail. Small parcels covered most items, for expensive stuff I use Special Delivery.

For something like RAM or an NVME I'm perfectly OK having it in it's plastic case and inside a Jiffy bag and posted 2nd class tracked. For something bigger like a Graphics card or Motherboard then I'd prefer something sturdier like a box and 24/48 hour tracked, ideally if it's £500 or more, signed for.

Anything I’ve sold (admittedly not a lot) I’ve made sure it’s in enough bubble wrap to make it ‘bouncy’ and sent RM either signed for or POD depending on value

Yeah I use royal mail too for most items. Usually a mix of special, or 1st as I like people to get their things quickly. Tracked, but not signed for unless expensive. I try and factor in rough cost to the sale price but I usually take a hit on postage. If it is something bigger, so I recently sold a 27" monitor, I'd go with a courier. I used parcelforce for that particular delivery.

Are you a shop? If not then just use a 2nd class stamp and envelope, padded if you find an old one or want to show off.

Royal mail tracked 48 (compo up to £150) is my go-to
Anything dearer = rmsd (compo up to £750)
Cheap stuff that I don't mind refunding if it gets lost = RM second class (or yodel if larger than a large letter)

99% of the time just use RM when sending, either 1st/2nd class in some form, 24/48 tracked, or RMSD for high value items and have had very few issues over the years.

Same.
RM for everything for me as they pick it up from my house.

Anything up to about 200 I use RM 48 tracked. As it has 150 of insurance.

Anything over will probably be courier or RMSD.

Royal mail are only courier who've paid out on a claim without hassle. DPD were the worst and I'll never use them again.

For small items, I pretty much always just go with RM 48. Pretty cheap & they'll collect it from you for free, rather than having to go to a shop.

Larger items, or stuff that needs more insurance, I would start looking at places like parcel2go to see what works out best.
