It is the only game i can say i own that has appeared in a music video though, anyone else know which one?
I actually made a music video with postal 2. I really have too much time on my hands. It's on youtube if anyone wants to see it.

Absolutely loved Postal 2 and the 2 expansion packs (although Apocalypse Weekend was a bit strange to say the least).

Provided hours of entertainment and is one of the games where I still play no matter how many times I have completed it.

That sounds interesting - how come I never heard of Apocalypse Weekend :\

valve engine? cool!
P2 just felt weird to control, you'd get used to it, but nowhere near as smooth as half life or quake

I'm not sure if it was ever released in the UK shops... I got it from the official website.

I think 'Share The Pain' was released in the UK shops? It was just the Multiplayer addon pack... Too many people used Gary Coleman though as their character, was too small to shoot :p

Hmm, unless the Xbox 360 and PC versions are being developed seperately I expect us PC users will be receiving yet another dumbed down console-esque game.

as long as I can smash Gary Colemans head off with a shovel and more realistic physics / Blood splatter I'm happy

Its not that I hate him but that I thought that was pretty much the highlight of the game for me, patiently queuing for the book signing in the mall and getting bored, finally getting to him and getting the signature and then thinking screw this, taser to the chest, shovel to the head, then plenty of petrol and a match.

Sorted.

I never got if it was in the music video as a bad thing or as a cool/ comedy thing. Ironicly the kid playing it looked about 8.

Sorry to go OT but your sig made me chuckle. ;)

AHEM! Back OT, I love Postal and hope Postal 3 is just as much fun!

Hmm well Postal is fairly dumb anyway. I don't think it'll make much difference.

What I mean is the game probably won't make full use of the PC's potential. Often in cases where games are multi-platform they are designed and developed primarily for consoles, the PC version is more often than not just a simple port.

Take Oblivion for example. I think most would agree that if it was developed purely as a PC game, it would have been a whole lot better.

The second game was very funny. I remember in the first ten minutes of play I thought it was rubbish, then I played it for a while and it really grew on me.

Some of the voices and missions were hilarious. The actual gameplay was lacking a bit, but the story and general black comedy really made up for it. Deffinately a Cult Classic.

Can't wait for III.

Ahh.. now the flowers will grow..

I thought postal 2 was rubbish compaired to postal 1. 1 just seemed so much more realistic. Can still remember some of the levels, especially the one with the big band

Yes but the postal gameplay is already very simple. Where as large RPGs like Morrowind had lots of complex game play, postal is pretty much run around and shoot things (or pee on them). It already suits a console the way it is. I would agree with you if it was being made for the previous gen (PS2, Xbox, GC) since they would have significant technical limitations, but the Xbox 360 is on par with modern PCs for the time being so no sacrifices will have to be made.

Re-read my post. POTENTIAL is the key word there. It will limit POTENTIALLY how much of an improvement the game can be over previous incarnations. You cannot deny that the PC offers more potential for improvement.

The fact that this game will most probably be designed and developed primarily with consoles in mind WILL limit potentially how good the game be.

I'm talking about ALL aspects of the game here, not just visuals. The visuals are probably the least of my concerns. Yes, the Xbox 360 is capable of some reasonable visuals but it is not on par with top end or 'modern' PC's as you put it, not by a long shot.

Ah ok I see what you mean. But I still think that even if the developers made it PC only, I don't think they'd want to use all that potential to do new things. The gameplay of postal 2 was very simple and I imagine they'll want to keep it that way for postal 3. They could put in loads of new features like a more advanced inventory system or RPG like stats, but would they really make the game better? I don't think they would. The only reason I can think of that would make it limited by consoles is them giving in to pressure from people like Jack Thompson. I hope they won't tone the "adult themes" down to make it more suitable for a console release.

bring back the good old days!

for me postal 2 just didnt have the feel, gameplay or atmosphere that postal 1 had.

They should just re-release postal 1 gold or something with more levels and weapons
