Hello all,

I am trying to setup a small postfix/dovecot server (on CentOS 5.3) that simply uses local user accounts, and an alias file for delivering email. I have dovecot running nicely, so users can connect and view their mailbox.

But as for postfix / sending receiving mail, its seems to be a real pain! I get all manner of errors! and i don't seem to be able to find a straight forward guide either, if anyone can either give me a hand trouble shooting postfix, or nkows a good guide, that has some tips etc, then PLEASE HELP ME!

Thanks peeps :)

That looks like a good one, I'm on CentOS and I'm not sure how much is transferable. Also i'm not sure that I will be using a database for the user accounts, but thanks for the link, I'm deffo going to go though it!

:)

I used this:

http://flurdy.com/docs/postfix/

to set up a postfix server, and it was pretty straightforward.

That looks great, I just need one for CentOS / RHEL5 (5.3 to be exact) I'm going to be setting this up in the next week or so, now I hopefully have some time. I will try and use that guide, since it should really only be the package manager and directory structure that are different.
