Posting a laptop?

I've just got myself a new laptop off the MM and due to it's awesomeness have decided that it'll be a good idea to shift my old one, whilst it's still alright.
However, I was thinking of how I would go about sending it off and it left me wondering. What is the best way to send a laptop?
I presume in it's original box a 15" widescreen notebook would be too large for Royal Mail to send? Since I've only sent Royal Mail before I haven't a clue...

Would Royal Mail be out of the question? And if so, how would I go about using a courier service? No doubt my questions will be answered if I have a blast on Google but I just thought I'd enquire here first.

[Edit]Immediately Google uncovers Royal Mails page and quashes my doubts about them :p[/Edit]

Royal Mail Special or something would be fine.. Just take the box into the post office.

Make sure you get the right amount of insurance.

If you use parcel2go (DHL) i will hunt you down and beat you with a wet fish!!!

They are useless!!

Royal Mail Special Delivery all the way, and if your selling on the web the buyer will incurr the costs anyway!

Yes, Parcel2Go is useless, and crap customer support.

www.wedelivertheworld.co.uk also use DHL, and are far far superior. I have used them 10 times now, some deliveries worth in excess of £60k and never a single problem at all, customer service is excellent also - calls answered within a few seconds and they always call back when they promise :)

I don't work for them btw :p

Make sure you fing a good box, and package it so that when you shake the box you can't hear anything inside moving.

If you can, you just broke it. :D

RM is most certainly the easiest, as you can take it any time into the PO and send it, couriers are all well and good, but you have to be in for them to collect.
