So if you saw a post relating to the above and u reported it to a moderator would u expect the post to be deleted? I mean it obviously goes on but I'd never been to a forum which is related to hacks being sold for money, and I personally object to seeing it here where it might influence some of the less fair minded gamers to use hacks.

I would have thought the mod team took it more seriously due to the fact that the power of PCs and the reason for £500 graphics cards is due to games. Things that kills the fun of a game i.e. hackers, would likely in a roundabout longwinded way effect their own business. The first rule of business being to protect your investment. Am I alone here?

I presume your on about a certain post in the bf1942 thread on the forums here?

I'm not entirely sure about protecting their investment as such but due to the way the forums are moderated/run yes I would expect and hope for it to be deleted/edited.

yes

i dont cheat, have no intention to, but this attitude serves no purpose

if a person is likely to cheat and use hacks, they're going to go looking for them and find them. The sort of person who downloads them after finding a link on an internet forum out of curiousity is unlikely to turn into a hardcore hacker intent on spoiling as many peoples games as possible

so for that hardcore of people who will no matter what, they'll find the cheats if you link to them or not. Let them get on with it, and stick to servers with admins on where people like that dont last very long. Let them play on the generic EA publics or whatever who never see an admin.

lol i'd be surprised if the mods didnt delete it very very quickly! (did this happen then?) because its illegal (basically its against the terms of the licence agreement when you install the game)

It isn't illegal to use hacks haha. As you say it can be against T&C but thats about it. If someone wants to hack they should have at least a basic understanding of google, and that is all they need. Don't worry about it mate I'm sure it will be deleted regardless.

They deleted the link and banned the geezer who posted it, not before time I must say!:)

Wether the easy link to a hacking site will influence more people to be "hack users" is debatable. Although my impression of the site is that it could easily have been a con and that they take your money for hacks and then you get you're account banned anyway. Also debatable is the motivation to hack as posted a few posts above; I would be surprised if a hacker did so simply to spoil the game for others. I would guess that it they find satisfaction in simply winning and blind themselves to the fact that its not them who are making them "win" its the hack.

and our survery says !

nu uh.

EULA isnt the same as law. Your End User License agreement stipulates you cant do x. However, the EULA isnt as legally binding as you think, because the software vendor has to proove it was you who accepted the EULA. You say your brother or whoever installed it for you and clicked on next

they have no way of touching you because you didnt accept any EULA

and thats why the EULA isnt really worth the disk space it takes up !

I bleeding hate online hackers soo freggin' much, I wish sometimes I could e-kill them!!

Bad sportsmanship!

Damn!!

dude its a game, it doesnt matter. Just let them do what they want. Just play on servers that have admins / clan servers. You get much better games anyway through the community input.

I dont cheat, but i dont give a damn about people that do. Because its only a computer game at the end of the day. Even if they do join one of the servers im playing on that usually have admins, chances are they wont be there tomorrow so just log off, and forget about it.

Like it or not, some people take their gaming seriously. Especially admins, I was on an Americas Army server last night and got peeved by all the rule spammings. I felt like the admin just got a new server and was high on being an admin.

Sometimes the best thing to do is switch server, but this does not make hacking acceptable. They should be PBscreened and banned with prejudice.

im not debating that they should be banned

but i just think people get too worked about it, jumping up and down when somebody posts a link to hacking site, which has somebody has already said is probably a fake.

You're attitude is I don't care as long as its not happening to me. Thats fine but don't use it as an excuse to tell others not to complain about hacking. Its a serious topic, just look at how big punkbuster is they protect BF2 and America's Army from hacks; its a big deal and shouldnt be underestimated.

Also the fact is that the guy was banned for posting the link (in the end) and link disabled. So I think this problem has been recognized and treated seriously, despite the fact that you don't mind it.

Only reason started this thread was because of the delay in dealing with it. To me, its just as clear cut as posting links to pRon, its unacceptable every time and should be dealt with immediately not 12hrs later.
