I always chime in with a rant whenever there's a thread bashing Royal Mail, so since today my local postman did me a good turn I thought it's only fair to post it (no pun intended): the guy has obviously noticed I'm a late riser, since I've often answered the door in my pyjamas whenever he's had a package for me that wouldn't fit through the letterbox. So, today, he just kept ringing and ringing - I don't know for how long as I'm sure he rang a few times before I woke up, and then kept ringing while I crawled out of bed and into a pair of pants and towards the door... he didn't look happy as I mumbled an apology, but I was really thankful as he saved me a 5-mile hike to the sorting office! 
Must've set him back a fair few minutes on his round too, and I appreciated it! What a thoughtful guy!
(On the other hand, sending a package to Germany a few hours later cost me £37, so I guess what goes around comes around
