A bit of a strange one here….My computer has been working perfectly fine for over a 2 years now until this morning.

When I turned my computer on it boots as normal but after about 5 minutes I noticed my H80i GT cranking up the fan speed. So I then opened up Core Temp and my CPU is Idling on the desktop at around 70c and has hit mid to high 90s at times. I haven't taken apart my computer yet but does anyone have a rough idea what it could be? I am thinking maybe my H80i GT has died it is over 2 years old now? But the fans are still spinning?

My spec is as follows:

4770k @ Stock
16gb Corsair Vengence Ram
Asus Z87 Maximus VI Impact
H80i GT CPU Cooler
MSI 960GTX 2GB

The Computer has been running now for a good 30 minutes and I am browsing the web and watching a video with VLC and CPU seems to be sticking around 65-70c but the CPU fans are the loudest I have ever heard them before.

Thanks for any help!

Thermal paste drying shouldn't totally shut down cooling, but just degrade it over time.
While that high idle/desktop temperature basically hints that in practise there's no cooling and it obviously happened at once.

So pump failing or something preventing water circulation is lot more probable cause.
Without water circulating water cooler can keep temperature under control only for as long as it takes for block and water inside it to heat up.

Sounds like the pump has failed to me. Have you got the H80i connected up so that you can see the pump rpm? Fialing that put your fingers on the pump and see if there is any vibration.
