Hi all,

The PC I built 8 years ago nearly melted when trying to play Baldurs Gate 3 so decided it was time to upgrade. I've so far looked at this as the key components:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,292.87 (includes delivery: £7.99)

Already a bit pricier than I had planned and yet to look at case, cooling and PSU but would welcome any advice there too. The build is primarily for some gaming and general internet use but with some future proofing in mind. Another 8 years would be good!

Monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers etc not required at the moment.

Any help or advice (or cost cutting without huge impact on performance) would be welcome!

Thanks!

Thanks for the help. Do you think the drop to the i5-13600 would make too much of a difference to make the cost saving worthwhile?

You mean the 13600K/13600KF, right? The 13600 is a different CPU.

I would say right now: no, you won't notice anything in games. Will the 2 P-Cores come in handy before the PC is EOL? Possibly, hard to say, you're betting against 6 core CPUs struggling in the future (and the 8 E-Cores not helping out).

Great, thanks. It was the 13600K/13600KF I meant, ta :) Something to consider now. I appreciate you taking the time to help.
