Potential System Build for Programming

Hi,

Am putting together a system for doing multiple tasks including some heavy duty programing with a variety of IDE's and languages. (They tend to be quite memory hungry).

Wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this spec,
if it should all work together ok, or if I have missed anything.

Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3
Processor Intel Core i7-2700K
RAM Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz
Case Antec Sonata Elite Case
PSU OCZ Technology PSU, ModXStream Pro, 700W – UK
BD-ROM Samsung 12x BD-ROM/DVDRW Lightscribe SATA
Hard Drive Hitachi 1TB Deskstar 7K100.D 3.5" 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 32MB
Monitor Hazro HZ27WC 8-Bit 27" LED Widescreen Professional Monitor – Black
graphics ATI Radeon HD 5450 SILENT 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express

I am quite tempted to get two HDs and RAID them, and possibly use a small SSD with the Smart Response Technology on the mother board...but am not sure I can do both, does anyone know?

cheers

hmm, thanks for those thoughts, especially regarding the PSU.

I picked the Z68 based on [http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2193659]
The ASUS H67 doesn't offer bluetooth or usb 3 as far as I can tell, both of which could be useful.

regarding Blue-ray...no I don't need it..I'd just like it :-), but perhaps an unnecessary expense.

ram, though I prob won't notice much difference, the Vengeance is CL8 rather than CL9, ...maybe an even more unnecessary expense

The monitor is important, hence my pick of the Hazro which gets good reviews, but is lots cheaper that its equivalents.

any one know about the RAID/SSD/SRT question?

unless theres some function that that graphics card does that the intel onboard graphics doesnt then dont bother with it. a while back i asked and it performs about the same as the intel onboard

The function on the graphics card I need is DL-DVI or I can't make use of the high resolution of the monitor.
