Currently have a Q6600 at 3ghz with 4gb ram and a 5850. Saw a bundle for a i7 930 12gb ocz ram 6x 2gb sticks and a asus x58 sabertooth mobo. Will I see a noticeable improvement. And would my current 750 PSU be upto the job? General use and the odd bit of gaming is the main use. Would FPS increase much without switching out the GFX card to higher model?

The PSU will be absolutely fine with that setup, even a 550W would be fine :)

As for the performance improvement, well obviously there is physically three times as much RAM, and as for CPU performance, take a look at this benchmark comparison. It is a stock Q6600 vs a stock i7 920, so your CPU will perform noticeably better than the Q6600 in this benchmark, and the 930 will be slightly better than the 920.

As a reference, here is the 920 vs an i5 3570K:

Personally I would pass up the i7 930 bundle and get something a bit newer, or live with the Q6600 a little longer. But it depends on how much the seller wants for the bundle really.

Its up to you :)

It's a tad over £200 which I think is a fair price and is about what I wanted to spend, plus shifting my old kit on should net around £80-£100 it seemed like a no brainer, thanks for the advice.
