Potential Virus?

Afternoon chaps,

so I haven't booted my PC up in a couple of days but I've notcied this evening that for some reason Chrome keeps doing this thing where its letting me "see similar" products.

Is this normal? I don't recall ever seeing this before and so naturally would appreciate the input of others.

Screeny so you know what I mean:

I use AVG antivirus but it's picked nothing up after a full scan :confused:

Avg is pish. You have an ssd so fresh format, takes no time at all.

think it may have just been a plugin issue. Uninstalled chrome and reinstalled
and all is dandy now.

Still, ditch AVG

Use MSE

I'd run an online scan with eset's scanner

Wouldn't you get better detection results with something other than AVG or MSE ie Avast or Nod32 and a good Firewall

A guy flames someone for using AVG and recommends Norton instead.

It's a browser plug-in/addon. Nothing to do with his choice of anti-virus.

Now I do not use AVG, but I see they have a bad rep on these boards which is surprising as my good lady's brother builds firewalls for the government and he rates it.

AVG has always had a rep of being c.r.a.p

...Most people who use it only do so because it's free .

All AV products need cooperation and a modicum of common sense from the user to be effective, the weak, squishy, easily distracted component in it all...

AVG is a system resource hog and killer, even ms one is better but Avira or nod32 are good choices.

av test links good but your gutt has to come 1st, going by that link we are led to belive avg is a top product...

aviras better imo and many others
