ive got an original xbox 360 (the white one)

its already red ringed and had the motherboard replaced and then 5 mins after i got it back it did the same thing and had another motherboard:confused:

anyway i only usually play skyrim and forza 4 (plus various indie games but these dont cause any issues) these 2 games are both installed on my 250gb hdd

when i load up skyrim or fm4 it goes into that noisey full whack mode (i dont know the tech term) for 1-2mins and then settles back down.

im just wondering if i have a problem or if this is just an aspect of these games pushing the 360?

Hmm, what is the noise more detail please :p

by "full whack" i'm guessing you mean the fans/disc drive making a lot of noise.

pretty normal for an old xbox (mine is also a white one, but not an original) and it has RRoD on me only once in the 4 years i have had it. (and Microsoft let me have free repairs even out of warranty)

its been repaired by microsoft twice for the motherboard.

and by full whack i mean the fan/disc making a lot of noise, the noise it makes when you play a game not installed to the hard drive.

both games are installed to the hard drive though so why would it make this noise? im just wondering if i shouldnt worry or if i should be saving for a new xbox?

glad i dont have anything to worry about.

apart from having 2 motherboards 3 years ago its been perfectly fine. it does however jam on occasion, jammed tonight when loading a single player race.

i just press the power button on the front of the console to turn it off and mine stays on for a bit, i just leave it be and it shuts down properly eventually
