Potentially daft question - re: AC Ryan Heatshrinkz

I just bought a tube of this stuff to tidy my cables... 'AC Ryan Heatshrinkz'. Erm, stupid question, but, how do I use it? Do I just cut the tube down to the size I want it then feed the wire through the tube? Is it meant to do something special like shrink round the wires?

dont you need the braiding, then you put the heatshrink on the ends to seal?

it shinks when you heat it with something like a lighter or blow torch...

Yep, it's used in addition to braiding. You take the plugs off the cables, pull the braiding over, then seal it with a small amount of heat shrink.

You could also just heat the ends, but its an expensive way to do it.
