I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but aside from the cable being bent through 90 degrees at the connector, is there any difference between the straight and 90 degree sata cables? I only ask as the manual for my gigabyte board says to use the corner cable for the hard drive, and am trying to figure out why?

Also, the angled connector can block other ports on the motherboard.

Although it can help if your gpu cooler overhangs the sata ports on certain motherboards.

This is why I like motherboards with the sata ports at the very edge fixed horizontally. Nothing worse when the gpu is in the way of the sata ports... super annoying.
