Power adapter, can it cause damage?

hey guys,

I wanted a more powerful charger for my MBA. I ordered a USB C 67W charger.

my question is, is it possible to have too much power charging your apple products, so basically will this 67W be on MBA M2 fine to do so?

The laptop will only draw what it needs, you could buy a charger that's capable of delivering a few kW and that would still be fine.

yeah, I am using a 20W atm, and was too "slow" to charge, and thought that the 67W would make a big difference, and it only cost £20 anyways, so worth a punt.

It'll only take what it needs, up to a maximum wattage which its designed for (which gives you the fastest charging speed). Not a problem.

right guys,

I received my new power adapter today, it seems to charge the MBA quite slow tbh..?

Is the battery optimiser thingy causing this? I have it set to on atm, if I turn it off will it really make my battery degrade at a much more rapid rate?

Personally I wouldn't change any default settings, or use any 3rd party apps to change things.

Do MacBooks like a phone charger faster the emptier they are and slow down as they fill up. I assume they do.
