power adapter converter or board

hi is there any way to connect say a plasma orb which uses a 12v power supply connector to a pc psu with either a adapter cable or some sort or a small circuit board of some kind so I could use 4 pin molex connectors to power it....

Yes. It's very unlikely you'll be able to find a cable made up with the right connections so you you'll have to make your own.

You will need one Molex connector of the correct gender, some of the wire that is fixed to it and a DC socket of the correct size. Solder the DC socket's black with white mark wire to the yellow of the Molex connector and the plain black wire to the black wire of the Molex. Insulate the connections and use. Then bask in the Plasma goodness whenever your PC is powered up.

I've done something similar for my DIY RGB Keyboard lights, well, exactly the same really.

Is your contents insurance up to date? Should be fine. I've powered many, many LED projects from molex, just insulate well, don't want any stray metal touching solder joints
