Power adapter lead query?

i want to route my cables very neatly but the 1 cable thats giving me a problem is the 8 pin power for the board. it doesnt reach the way i want to route it.

i have a 4 pin to 8 pin adapter. will the pc still get enought power from a 4pin lead from the power supply via the adapter into the 8 pin. or do a need the full 8 pin direct from the power supply?

I would recommend using a full 8 pin adapter long term. But for now the adapter will be fine. The 8 pin socket if for the CPU so as long as you don't do any overclocking then the adapter will be fine

as above as a temp cover till you get a proper extension it should be fine
