Power adapter question

I have given my mate my old ATI 5770 graphics card, with it is an 8 pin pci-e to 2 power connections.

Does he need to plug both in or just one?


It looks like the middle one on this pic.

What happes if he just used one of the power connections (because he only has one free?)

Is a Delta Electronics DPS-250AB-22

He said he's plugged one of the molex cables in and its working at the moment, installed with drivers on.

That PSU sounds a bit crappy to me. Is he at risk of blowing his pc up if using only one molex?
