Anyway, I've got a Gadmei box thing, that I use to convert the RBG input from my Wii/PS2 and turn it into VGA signal to plug into my monitor. Anyway, I've lost the power cable that came with it, but the thing is, it seemed to be a pretty standard affair. The bit that plugged into the socket is a little chunky, looked very similar to my DS and mobile phone chargers, and the other end was the usual round, long AC plug.
the whole thing looked a little like this:

Now, I'm guessing that inside the plug bit, there would be a transformer stepping down the voltage? These usually go down to 12V, so would it be too hard to go and find a replacement one on the high street somewhere?
