I am looking for a power bank that can power a device that needs 1a 5w. My current anker power bank will not power it, presume it is too high powered.

Also it would be a bonus if you could somehow set a timer to turn off power bank

What are you actually charging? Does it draw 1A? Maybe the draw is much lower and the power bank is shutting off because it thinks there's no draw - some have a 'low power' mode to get round this

Can recommend power banks by Anker, Ugreen, Iniu & Aukey. Check reviews for true output & capacity and avoid ones with built-in cables as they don't last well.

Currently have a 40Ah Aukey, with 2x USB-A & USB-C, with a 60W output. It's strong enough to power the Nintendo Switch in docked mode, outputting via HDMI (helpful when travelling with the monsters)

Just guessing.
But is the power bank able to "register" that draw?

Maybe devices can't negotiate?

Assume the device is 5v?

Any power bank. Any power bank will do both of those things.
