Power but no display

Hi,

just bought some cheap parts for a small build

MSI A55M-E33 FM2 motherboard
AMD A4-6300 cpu
Teamgroup elite 4gb single channel memory
superflower 300w 80plus power supply
Sandisk SSD 64gb

put it all together and powered up, fans start up but nothing coming through display. tried the HDMI and vga port on the motherboard to no avail.

tested the hard drive in my own desktop works fine. used my own ram in above build but still no luck.

could this be a motherboard issue or am i missing something really simple?

any help would be appreciated!

There is a 4pin ATX plug by the cpu, have you connected that from the PSU?

Yes connected the 4 pin plu from the psu.

Clear the CMOS (battery out for a bit).

Or maybe the Richland APU isnt supported as I only see older Trinity listed - http://uk.msi.com/support/mb/FM2A55ME33.html#support-cpu

And the last BIOS update was early last year.

Incompatible ram in the end, thanks to overclockers support team for finding that out
