Not sure what cables to use with gpu i have two separate cpu cables that have 8 pin heads each , or i have one cable PCle which has a split off with two 8 pin heads ?

Which PSU do you have?

You want two separate PCI-E power feeds from the PSU.
i have a Corsair RM1000x 80 PLUS, there is one cable that plugs in to the PCI -e but it has two plugs on the end each with 8 pin each , I then only have two separate cpu cables they both have 8 pin plug ,

Both (2x PCI-E 8 pin from one cable, 1x PCI-E 8 pin from another cable OR 3x PCI-E 8 pin from 3 cables) is likely to be fine, but three separate cables (from your description, one will have a free plug) is the safest option.

I then only have two separate cpu cables they both have 8 pin plug ,
I assume this is a typo? But, for clarity: EPS12v 8-pins are not compatible with your graphics card.
