Power cables for 1080ti.

Hi, I have a silly trivial question I am upgrading from a 980 SC to a Asus Strix 1080ti and noticed it is a 2 x 8 pin connectors where as my 980 was a 2 x 6 pin cable.

I am wondering for the 1080ti do I use my 2 6 pin with 2 extra pins to connect directly to my evga 1000 g2 psu?

I know this is a silly question but would rather ask someone incase I am doing something wrong.

Yes use your 2x 6+2 pin connectors to hook up your gpu.
