power check?

Could someone with a bit more knowlegde of power consuption say if this seems right i have the following:

Amd sepron 140 2.7ghz
Asus M4A79XTD Evo
1 GB DDR3
Nvidia 6200 le
2TB eco green
160gb boot drive (sata)
ocz 700w

Was built out of spare parts so cost nothing and wanted to leave it on 24/7 but worried about power being a tight a$$

196 watts at load sound about right?

The PSU is massively overspeced, so will be running very inefficiently I'd imagine.

Thanks but not really what i was asking. Buying a better psu would defeat the point of spare parts and saving money

I would say closer to 140-150w at full load, maybe even less. The 6200le won't pull much and the same for the Sempron.

Thanks pasty, thinkning about it i say full load the pc will be idle most of the day with the odd download and streaming the odd movies to the rest of the house.

Would 50w idle be ott?

just found another 500w psu, am i right in thinking the 500w or 700w wont make any diff in power usage? (both ocz series)

It will be so low power that there won't be a lot of difference in efficiency. The 500w will be slightly better.

My second rig, E8500 at stock, 2x1 GB Hyper X PC2-6400C4, ATI 4650, Creative X-Fi Xtreme gamer idles at 74w so i can see your's being less than that. The difference being i have a Enermax 82+ Pro 385w psu powering it so it's a lot more in the psu efficiency range.
