Firstly, does the GTX 260 216 core draw about 42w?
I ask, because I am trying to drill down the power consumption for my machine. With the computer sat normal in the BIOS, about 137w is consumed. With the graphic card removed, this plummets to around 95w. This gives me my 42w figure for the GTX 260.
Sat at Windows 7 desktop, 5 minutes after startup and everything has settled/loaded, the power consumption is about 112w.
I can account for 15w being used for two harddrives and two optical drives consume a total of 5w.
Which leads me to the question, where is the other 75w going to? The CPU and RAM?
