How can I work out/test the actual power usage of my rig?

Sure, upping my PSU can only be a good thing, but I want to know how much headroom I have before the next time.

Just put in a Tagan TG530-U15 in anticipation of new XFX 7900GT EE that's on its way.

Any ideas? Cheers!

That will be fine.

Unless you are running more that 4/5 h/drives, 2 optical drives and 7900'sin SLI 530w will be totally fine.

A top of the line single GPU system will use ~300W

The PSU calculators are a bit extreme in what they come up with, the limit isn't the total amount of Power but the Amps on the 12V rail.

Was getting a low power warning from my old PSU (apparently 400W but stock) with the 6600GT.
Looks like that is a bug, I have seen it a few other times from people with 6600GT cards which is hardly a power sucking beast
