In my previous job I used to send a text to my minions giving a brief handover, had anyone said to me to stop then I would. Usually it wasn't giving jobs to do and more along the lines of "this person was in today, aren't they a complete ****". Likewise though they would do the same with me with a handover at the end of the day. The process worked because we didn't have our own email addresses only a shared inbox and the stupid hot desk idea made leaving a note impossible.
