Power cuts/claiming issue

Quick question.

If a power cut due to a contractor's mistake caused my PC to cease functioning, would I have a case for claiming compensation against them?

Well I hadn't had a single problem with my PC ever. Bit of a coincidence that in the 20 minute period we had the power cut in the area, it packs up completely, don't you think?

Check the fuse.

Failing that call your local CAB.

We had a power Cut once, i few years back IIRC the old pc was surged protected, and it still randomly ceased working,.

I'll have to ring the local CAB tomorrow. I'm not expecting anything, I'll probably end up having to stump up the cash for a new one myself despite it being someone else's mistake.

I'm just not sure what the law is in this instance. If it's any additional help to anyone that knows about this type of stuff, our energy supplier (EON) have said they'll send me a letter outlining exactly who was to blame and why, and they'll back me up in the event of needing to claim.

i've had a few power cuts and the pc woudn't turn back on, all i chaned was the kettle lead to the pc and it worked fine
