Hi there,

So I'm moving house soon and I have a question in regards to how much computer stuff should I plug into an extension lead plugged into a UK mains socket.

My setup is as follows:

My Gaming PC (with a 850w PSU)
2x BENQ XL2411T Monitors (at 22W‎ each)
Logitech Z906 Speakers (at a 500w max apparently)

All in all that adds up to a theoretical maximum of just under 1400w.

Is it ok to plug all of the above into a 4-way (surge protected) extension lead, which will be plugged into 1 UK mains socket?

I'm also considering the upgrade to a 1080 ti, and adding another 4k monitor into the setup, later on. Would that push it over the edge (if my current setup doesn't do that already)?

Divide watts by volts e.g. 230 to get Amps

Based on experience with large UPSes, a standard 13amp socket is rated at around 3000Watts.

Just double check the fuse is a 13Amp one, fully uncoil the extension cable, and ideally use a decent branded extension lead.

An 850 Watt PSU is only the max rating, it depends on what is running for the draw from the PSU to be measured. Again Speaker watts are only the maximum the speaker can handle from the amplifier. I doubt you're anywhere near the numbers you are talking about.
Andi.
