I wasn't entirely sure if this was a GPU, MOBO, or a PSU problem, so I'm sorry about the vague title.

Firstly, this is my first build so I hope that you'll go easy on me.

So, like I said this is my first build. I've bought the case, mobo, psu, dvd drive and the HDD. The lastest part was the PSU. When I went to install it all the wires matched and I went throught it easily, exept one wire. It has a 6/8 pin wire that powers to the PCI-E and I can't find it! I included a link to the mobo I'm using so if it isn't asking to much could you point out where it is.

I'm using this mobo: http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/Z77A-G45.html

Sorry for being such a n00b,

Thanks.

:D

That cable is for the graphics card m8,some cards have a 6 pin or 8 pin.

You should have 2 power cables going to your motherboard,a 24 pin and a 8 pin.

A graphics processing unit (GPU), also occasionally called visual processing unit (VPU), is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and later memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display. GPUs are used in embedded systems, mobile phones, personal computers, workstations, and game consoles.
