power lead problem with my laptop

Hi,
my laptop lead seems loose in the laptop port and needs wiggling and placing 'just so' to allow recharging.
is there anything i can do to remedy this? i havent opened it yet and will do so if someone thinks there is a a remedy, can i pinch the outer sleeves tighter? does anybody know the answer, can the piece be replaced by myself, over to you guys and thnx.

can you replace the dc input on a laptop yourself, i see it can sent away to do so, but i dont have the time and where would i get one if i need one, to do myself?
