Power light flashing :(

yesturday i accidently pressed the power button on my MCE remote and the pc went into either sleep or hybernation (shut down and power light stayed flashing). thing is, it wont stop flashing now. machine runs as normal, its just the power light is constantly flashing. i have tried shutting the pc down, unplugging it from the mains, everything i can think of. any ideas?

If you haven't tried it already, you could try reseating the power L.E.D. input.

its not the wire it seems to be a setting somewhere. it doesnt affect the way the pc works, just annoying.

Do what I did to my Hard drive activity LED and stick a bit of insulation tape over it. There. Problem solved...ish.

Incase you didn't get it, don't do this.

Is it flashing when idle or what?

it was on permanently until it got to the weclome to windows screen, then it just kept flashing. sorted it now though, removed main lead, took ram out, refitted ram and powered up. light now permanently lit again. some sort of hibernation/sleep setting must have got stuck.

I'd be more worried with the possibility of the RAM having some sort of damage.

haha! that is what i did to my power led light becuase it was SO bright

nah its all been fine before, i think the MCE remote power button just messed something up, dont even know what its set to do (sleep or hibernate) is there anywhere in windows to set it to shut down the pc?
