hi guys, i am just rewiring my system and i wanted to have a dedicated line from my psu to my pump (watercooling) however it would be much easier for me to put 2x 80mm fans via a molex then attach the pump to that, would this make any difference to my pump?

the power goes to the input molex then the fans get power and the output molex will go to the pump.

or would it be better to use a molex splitter, which is what i have done now?

Hi

It really depends on the ratings of your pump, fans and your PSU but to be perfectly honest with you I doubt it will make much difference having just 2 fans attached to the same rail.

cool thanks, it is a laing dcc 12v pump and it is a hiper 580w psu. i think i'll just go with it because as you say it shouldn't make much if any difference

Thats a nice PSU so i really cannot see any issues with the methods youve said above, if you do experience anything you can always change later on

Just out of interest what are your sys specs?

opteron 170 overclocked, 2gb ram at 2.8v 2 dvd drives and 3 hdds, 1 pump, and some fans on a controller
