I want to fit a power meter to my Cube Acid MTB.

It features the Sram Stylo Eagle™ DUB, 32T, 175mm crankset.

My understanding is that the left crank is fixed to the DUB axle so a left crank option is out.

Are there any power meter options that don't end up costing the earth?

Depends how you're defining the price of the Earth. Garmin have just released a new SPD power meter pedal if that's any use to you. Most single sided crank power meters tend to be left-only, so pedal based might be your only option. If you use flat pedals you're going to be out of luck
