Hi folks, I am thinking about getting a meter to measure the power draw of my PC.

My question is this: the PSU is plugged into a surge protector - am I okay plugging the meter into this or does it have to be plugged into the wall?

No problem about plugging it into the surge protector.

I have mine plugged into the surge protector, to get the actual pc power rather than all the peripherals plugged in aswell.

The meter plugged into a surge protector is connected directly to interior wall wires. The only device from meter to wall wires is copper conductors. No magic device is in a surge protector to disrupt the meter or stop a surge.

How can you know that? Simply connect to the protector and to the wall. Note same numbers.

TY all for the helpful replies :D
