or most of it anyway. My monitor has gone off but fans are spinning, mobo and ram are lit up.
I have changed to a Z170 Gaming K3 mobo and Corsair Crystal Series 460X Mid Tower and front panel leads are fine.

Edit: Some five minutes later it has completely shut down.

What should I be looking at? Had a look in the BIOS and it is set for instant of on pressing power switch.

Erm, not to state the obvious but the computer/motherboard is separate from the monitors power
I am also confused I am with your post, the monitor ceases to receive a signal fro the PC once the PC power button is pressed which is as it should be.
The fans remain spinning, leds on mobo and mouse and mouse mat all remain on and the PC does not fully shut down for a full 5 minutes. I think it is USB related though I have no idea why.

I had this a few years ago. Turned out to be a bug in windows. I'm sure an update fixed it. Mess around with the power settings and I'll try and recollect.

Same thing though. Go to shutdown, it shuts down screen goes black but box still running. It's like the last command to power off after going through the shutdown routine is ignored.

I'm sure in my case it was os related..

I am going to faff about with it today, almost lost the will to live yesterday getting the OS activated, Microsoft surely tried my patience yesterday.

I will reset all mobo settings to default.
See if there is a Bios update.
Check for OS updates.
Contact the guy I bought it from on here.
Post on the Gigabyte forum once I am approved
Hopefully this will be sorted.

Sorted but not sure why though it might have been the BIOS update or the reset to default settings in the BIOS.

Windows 10 also has a habit if fast boot is enabled to 'shut down' the PC but leave it running for upto 1 minute after whilst it does stuff in the background.

I turned off Fastboot as I could not see the point in enabling it and then having difficulty getting back into the BIOS because my KB was still dead. The thing was this was five and a quarter minutes before it finally shut down and even then mouse and mouse mat were still lit up.
glad you got it sorted mate. enjoy a better day today!
Cheers mate, cannot be any worse.

Ha. Glanza I just came back on to say I think it was Fastboot that did it for me and made it super slow to shutdown, certainly more than it should have done. It was fixed though by some update.
