I've had this trouble a few times and each time it has usually been something different. One of my machines powers up, led light on mobo, fans spinning, hard drive spins up, cd drive opens, but no output on the screen. Tried different cpu's and it doesn't seem to be the issue, the ram i'm pretty certain is fine, just going to try a different vga card and psu. Then it's time for a new mobo I think.

Does anyone know why this problem occurs? The same problem seems to be happening every couple of years. The computers are on constantly, is it just a case of wear and tear?

I am having the same problem with my newly built spec, though it is though DVI, but every so often I boot it up and nothing shows on the monitor.

I am also unsure why, though I have found a temporary solution for mine, it seems to work again if I unplug the PSU from the computer case, leave it a minute, plug it back in and try again.

Sorry, but that's all I've got... I am trying to identify the same problem.

My spec:
E6600, Seasonic 600w, P5W Deluxe (1201 BIOS), GeForce 7950GX2, GeIL 6400 2GB, Samsung SM-940BF 19" LCD Monitor.

Right, it's the graphics card. Just plugged in an old trusty pci card and it works. Now i'm off out to buy a new one:D Glad it's not the mobo as that would have been a pain in the ***
