Power on issue.

Hey guys,

Been looking at a computer that switches on fine all of the time but, increasingly, does little else... I get fan noise etc but no vga output or POST You can't force it to power down with the power button, it has to be physically switched off at the wall!

Initially I though it might be the psu so that's been swapped out but the problem remains, now I'm thinking it might be the cases switch? I'm currently checking the memory as well - as you can tell, I'm all over the place with this one

Any ideas?

Tried it with just one stick of ram in? A stick of ram you know that works. I had this problem with mine, wouldnt power on with 4 sticks but with 3 it would.. so the solution was to set the voltage manually to what I needed

You'll also get this problem if you havnt connected the power cable to the CPU power plug on the board (perhaps your cpu needs the 8pin?)

Also try the obvious and reset the cmos
